There will be a number of new projects coming up that will rejuvenate the area and make it more desirable. Here are some of the new developments that include both residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.
In the late 1990s, this area of Etobicoke was one of the fastest-growing regions in Toronto. The Islington Village subdivision is a traditional suburban development, with a majority of detached houses and single-family dwellings.
The Islington Village subdivision is a beautiful neighbourhood bounded by Bloor Street West south to Norseman Street, and Islington Avenue west to Kipling Avenue. One of the most unique aspect of the area is a series of 26 murals depicting the very different history of the area. The murals, which are beautifully lifelike and compelling, were done by local artists such as John Kuna. This strip of area is better known as the "Toronto's Village of Murals".
Fast forwarded to 2021, the area is now characterized by original post war bungalows that still remain, new construction is further developing with upgrading single family homes as well as both newer freehold townhomes, stacked condo townhomes and commercial properties.
